For the past several years now, Vanity Fair has capped off the year by assembling a list of our very favorite performances—by stars in films and on television, yes, but also by actors on Broadway, social media stars, and up-and-comers who have a knack for making any platform feel like a stage. This year we even broadened the umbrella to include a few indelible inanimate objects (because it’s our list, dammit!).
