Pat and Alan Channing from Byers Green celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on 25 April. Pat was born on 23 October 1943 in Binchester and grew up in Lodge Street, Byers Green. Alan was born on 14 June 1941 in Bearstead Jewish Hospital, Hampton Court. Whan they first met in Carvelle Coffee Bar in Kingston upon Thames, Surrey, Pat was working in Kingston Gate Army Camp and Alan was a heavy goods driver. Alan was a teddy boy and Pat loved clothing and fashion.
