Mentor alum Byron Floyd transferring to Youngstown State for final year of football

Byron Floyd is coming back to Ohio to finish his college football career. A product of Mentor, Floyd is transferring to Youngstown State for the 2025 season. He is currently finishing up his academic school year at the University at Buffalo, where he started all 13 games last season as the Bulls’ long snapper. Floyd (6-foot-1, 230 pounds) has one year of eligibility remaining, then hopes to earn a shot to make an NFL roster. “Youngstown State is a great opportunity,” Floyd said.
