    100 years agoMemorial Hospital in Albany was the temporary home of a “Christmas foundling,” a baby dressed in expensive clothing that was abandoned in the hallway of 2 Sheridan Ave. by a young couple who were seen driving away in a limousine. The total was estimated to top 1,000 by the time Christmas arrived. Youmans when they learned a shotgun had recently been repaired in Amsterdam at the request of two men, and those repairs matched those that had been done to the weapon found near the crime scene.     100 years agoSeveral car accidents happened in Glens Falls during a blinding snowstorm over the weekend, but the weather was not the main cause. A cow was. The animal, owned by farmer Arthur Caruso, was struck by a car on the Whitehall-Comstock Highway but not killed outright; it continued to crawl around the road for some time afterward. The next driver attempted to avoid running over the cow once it saw her through the snow and ended up running his car into a ditch, where it overturned.
