MOUNT PLEASANT — The Charleston County coroner's Office has identified the bicyclist killed in a collision on Long Point Road the afternoon of May 22. In a post on X, Mount Pleasant police said Long Point Road heading toward the Wando Welch Terminal was closed at the interchange with Interstate 526 due to a collision resulting in injuries. The roadway opened about two hours after the collision.

NORTH CHARLESTON — A young woman was driving on Cosgrove Avenue across the North Bridge the evening of May 22 when she glanced in her rearview to see an unusual sight — a man tumbling over the side guardrail. The 21-year-old woman quickly called 911 to report what she'd seen, according to an incident report obtained from the Charleston Police Department. What transpired was a multi-agency response from units across the county to search for the man.

SUMMERVILLE — A mother is accused of climbing on a school bus filled with elementary students and threatening one who she believed was her child's bully, authorities said. "Don't put your hands on my child. None of them," police said she told the child. A man boarded the bus as well, stating he would "cut" students who were laughing at the encounter. Meanwhile, several other students were visibly upset, according to an incident report. The ordeal occurred the morning of May 5.

HANAHAN — A teenager was shot and killed near apartment complex and shops the evening of May 12. Just after 9 p.m., officers with the Hanahan Police Department arrived to a portion of Bowen Pier Drive to find 18-year-old Tra'sean White, of Wadmalaw Island, dead from a gunshot wound, according to the Berkeley County Coroner's Office. Authorities detained an individual in connection on the scene, according to a Facebook post by the police agency.
