The Post and Courier serves as the primary daily newspaper in Charleston, South Carolina. Its roots go back to three earlier publications: the Charleston Courier, which started in 1803, the Charleston Daily News, established in 1865, and The Evening Post, launched in 1894. As a result of this lineage, it holds the title of the oldest daily newspaper in the South and is among the longest-running newspapers in the U.S. It is the leading newspaper of Evening Post Industries.

    CONWAY — A 16-year-old from North Carolina has been arrested in connection with a Memorial Day weekend shooting in Little River that injured 11 people, according to Horry County Police. The suspect, who hasn't been identified because of his age, was the second person arrested in the case. Shawon Shamarion Williams, a 19-year-old U.S. Navy sailor, was taken into custody last week at Naval Station Great Lakes, a naval base just north of Chicago.
