I don't know about you, but I feel like it's been ages since my body has seen the sun. We've reached that inevitable point post-winter when summer days feel like a very, very distant memory. And although spring has officially sprung, all I can think about is hot tropical weather. I'm sure I'm not the only one who misses the feeling of sun on their face—and a nice tan on their body.

The new season has arrived, and my spring-cleaning is in full swing. Part of that includes refreshing my collection of basics. I like to take inventory of my closet at the top of each season to determine what could use replacing, and that's particularly true for spring, when a general feeling of renewal is in the air. We all know basics are the building blocks of a wardrobe, so I always make sure mine are in mint condition since I know I'll be wearing those 90% of the time.

Spring has officially arrived and brought with it a slew of fresh trends. While there are many trends to get excited about (romantic touches, modern boho, soft power!), it's the new color trends that have really piqued my interest—specifically butter yellow and powder pink. What espresso brown and merlot red were to fall is what butter yellow and powder pink are to spring, and I'm fully on board.
