The Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) received more than 140,000 complaints in the second half of 2024. This marks a 49% increase year-on-year, with disputes related to banking, credit affordability and motor finance commissions driving the rise. Newly published data shows the FOS handled 141,846 complaints between July and December 2024, up from 95,349 in the same period in 2023.

The 2025 Underpensioned Report, published by now:pensions in partnership with the Pensions Policy Institute (PPI), shows almost nine million people in the UK remain significantly underpensioned compared to the broader population.
