Nova Scotia is in the process of looking into selling alcohol in places like grocery and convenience stores and have launched a survey for feedback. However, in a news release, the union that represents NSLC employees says if it happens, thousands of jobs would be put at risk, especially in rural areas.

    Dozens of intersections are about to have their crosswalks upgraded to make them more visible. The city says 65 signalized intersections will be changed to zebra crosswalks from rainbow markings. The decision was made after they evaluated their effectiveness, with the change expected to be phased into a multi-year plan. Eight will be changed over this year, with new rainbow crosswalks that will be repainted at other locations.

According to reports, Israel accused Iran of further strikes and threatened to retaliate. Donald Trump expressed deep frustration with the move outside the White House, on his way to the NATO summit, and said he is not happy. “We basically have two countries that have been fighting so long and so hard they don’t know what the f–k they’re doing,” said Trump.

    A local theatre company says they are thrilled to be getting support from Victoria County to help with renovations for the Greenwood United Church. Theatre Baddeck will receive $100,000 to create the Greenwood Arts Centre. This is the third major funding announcement for the project. In a news release, co-Artistic Producer Hannah Ziss says it’s amazing to have the municipality as the fourth partner on the project alongside the province and federal government.
