RCMP informed the public that they would be scaling back search efforts for Lily and Jack Sullivan. At a news conference Wednesday, the RCMP confirmed that active ground search efforts for six-year-old Lillian and four-year-old Jack Sullivan are being scaled back. “We are transitioning from a full-scale search to searches of more specific spaces,” said Staff Sergeant Curtis MacKinnon.

It has now been four weeks since two young children went missing from rural Nova Scotia. Lilly and Jack Sullivan, six and four years old, are reported to have wandered away from home on Gairloch Road in Pictou County, May 2. A massive search involving over 160 volunteers who spent tens of thousands of search hours over 5.5 kilometers of rough terrain lasted for six days. It was scaled back on May 7 to focus on specific areas, until two additional searches on May 8, 9, 17 and 18.

Police are continuing to search for a 40-year-old man who was last seen Sunday in Sheet Harbour. A vulnerable person’s alert was issued Monday for Brian John Matthew Warrington. That has been lifted, but police and search crews have continued to look for the man along the East River, Hwy 7 and Hwy 224 in the Sheet Harbour Area. Warrington is described as 6 feet, 210 lbs, with brown hair, brown eyes and walks with a limp.

The Municipality of the County of Antigonish has approved its municipal budget for 2025/26 at $20,828,099 with no changes to the sewer, or residential and commercial tax rates. The residential rate will remain at $0.85 per $100 of assessment – among the lowest in Nova Scotia. The commercial rate will remain at $1.43 per $100 of assessment, with sewer rates remaining at $316.29/unit. The interest rate is 6 per cent per annum.
