SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A multi-state hunt for a wanted man came to an end Wednesday night. Cody Dittman, 35, who was wanted for two different incidents that took place over a two-day period in multiple states, including South Dakota, has been found and apprehended by officials, according to a post on Facebook. The coordinated efforts of Oglala Sioux Tribe DPS police, DPS troopers and federal agents lead to Dittman’s capture.

Brookings Sheriff asks for help finding pickup thief

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The Brookings County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help in finding a man who allegedly stole an impounded pickup. Authorities say 21-year-old Travis Bullington got into the lot in Aurora just before 11 p.m. Wednesday. How soon is too soon to plant your garden? He allegedly broke into a pickup and drove through a fence. Authorities say the pickup was in the lot after Bullington allegedly used it during an earlier pursuit.
Folds of Honor donates to scholarships for service members

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Folds of Honor accepted a generous donation from Williquor’s Wednesday. The store gave $1,000 to go towards scholarships for the families of wounded or fallen service members and first responders. “So a thousand dollars that we get, that’s, that’s twenty percent of a full scholarship to some family in South Dakota’s gonna get,” said Brad Coleman, Folds of Honor South Dakota Chapter President.
Pierre man found guilty of November 2023 stabbing

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A Pierre man has been found guilty in connection with a deadly stabbing over a year ago. A Hughes County jury convicted 25-year-old David Shangreaux Jr. of second-degree murder in the stabbing death of 17-year-old Evie Maxey. Vietnam veterans remember the war 50 years later Maxey was stabbed multiple times in the bathroom of an apartment in Pierre in November 2023. Shangreaux faces up to life in prison.
