On Thursday, students across campus joined the rest of the nation in raising awareness of domestic violence by incorporating various hues of purple into their outfits. “National Wear Purple Day”, observed on the third Thursday of October, encourages people to wear purple in solidarity with survivors of domestic violence, and is one of many activities that takes place during October as part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

New data dashboards tracking various programs addressing homelessness across L.A. County was released by the Los Angeles Homeless Service Authority (LAHSA) on Wednesday. The release of the dashboards was part of LAHSA’s efforts to increase transparency by providing the public with comprehensive and digestible data on homelessness. The data tracks street outreach, interim housing and time-limited subsidy programs which can be accessed on LAHSA’s official website.

Students and faculty gathered at the USC Sustainability Hub on Thursday afternoon to discuss the current state and future of the University’s sustainability efforts. The Student Sustainability Committee, in partnership with the Environmental Student Assembly, hosted the Sustainability Town Hall and elicited students to ask a panel of sustainability experts questions. This year marks the first time the sustainability town hall was hosted in the new Sustainability Hub, which opened last September.
