FLORENCE, S.C. (WBTW) — A 19-year-old man was arrested Friday after allegedly shooting at multiple homes on Olive Street in Florence, police said. Kristopher Anderson of Florence was charged with two counts of discharging a firearm into a dwelling, two counts of malicious injury to property, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, high and aggravated breach of peace, and criminal conspiracy. He was released from the Florence County Detention Center on Saturday.

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A man is facing assault and weapons charges after allegedly shooting someone in the ear at an Horry County condo complex over the weekend, police records show. Cain Francis, 23, of Conway, was charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, unlawful possession of a pistol, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and two drug offenses. He was booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on Saturday, where he remains on a $85,000 bond.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WBTW) — One of two people killed in a shooting on Thursday at Florida State University has ties to Horry County, News13 has learned. Tiru Chabba, 45, of Greenville, South Carolina, was a married father of two and worked for a food service vendor. According to his LinkedIn page, Chabba earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration and management from Coastal Carolina University in December 2002.

DARLINGTON, S.C. (WBTW) — A Darlington police sergeant who was “relieved of his duties” over evidence mishandling allegedly gave three cases of vape pens to a confidential informant in exchange for repair work, affidavits show. According to online jail records, Mark Anthony Hayes was arrested by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division on Thursday and booked into the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center on breach of trust with fraudulent intent, and misconduct in office charges.

LAMAR, S.C. (WBTW) — Lamar High School named longtime baseball and football coach Tyler Boyd its new head man, a news release said Friday. Boyd, the son of SC Football Coaches Hall of Fame member and former Lamar coach JR Boyd, brings 15 years of experience to the Silver Foxes. He succeeds at the helm. Boyd currently serves as the athletic director and head football coach at Williamsburg Academy in Kingstree, the release said.
