(WBTW) — The South Carolina Department of Transportation will conduct temporary nighttime closures on Highway 501 over the Waccamaw River in Horry County for bridge inspection, the department said Tuesday. The work will begin Saturday, May 18, at 9 p.m., SCDOT said. The closure will continue nightly, ending at 7 a.m. from May 18 until May 21. SCDOT asks drivers to proceed to seek alternate routes and expect delays during the closures.
