NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV/Gray News) - Police are searching for a man in connection to a woman who was found stabbed to death outside of an elementary school Monday morning. According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, 52-year-old Niurka Alfonso-Acevedo was found stabbed to death outside Chadwell Elementary School. An arrest warrant charging Candido Raul Rubio-Perez, 54, with criminal homicide has been issued. Rubio-Perez is the estranged husband of Alfonso-Acevedo, according to MNPD.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A beloved marathoner from Pennsylvania was found dead after going missing on a kayaking trip with his wife at Percy Priest Lake. Don Slusser, 73, has been identified as the kayaker who disappeared as storms moved into Nashville Thursday night. He was pulled from the lake on Friday morning. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) said Slusser was with his wife at the campground when they decided to go kayaking on Thursday.

HUNTINGDON, Tenn. (WSMV/Gray News) - A Tennessee lineman died while working earlier this month during severe weather. The Tennessee Emergency Management Agency reports that a lineman with the Carroll County Electric Department died while working as strong storms hit the area. “Our hearts are with the family and friends of Chance Carlton, who lost his life while working during the recent storms,” the agency said. Carroll County Mayor Joseph Butler said he was heartbroken about the lineman’s death.

(WSMV) - A bill that would require law enforcement in Tennessee to report monthly each interaction officers/deputies have with illegal immigrants to the Department of Safety has been passed in the Senate. On Wednesday, SB 0750/HB 0833 was passed in the Senate by a vote of 26 to 5. It was introduced by Sen. Ken Yager (R-Kingston) and Rep. Kelly Keisling (R-Byrdstown).
