At least Justin Herbert is self-aware? After Saturday afternoon's Wild-Card Round loss, the Justin Herbert discourse has already kicked up again in full. For what feels like the 100th straight season, a statistically impressive year ended earlier than it probably should have, and Herbert's performance against what is, admittedly, a really good Texans defense, is squarely under the microscope. It wasn't pretty.

Houston's trophy shelf just got a whole lot more impressive. Some things are bigger than wins and losses. The Texans found that out on Saturday afternoon. For Houston, Saturday's Wild Card win over the Chargers was a moment of vindication. They were division champs that somehow ended up as home underdogs to *the Chargers,* and came into the game wildly disrespected by everyone who's job it is to pick football games. No one believed in them! It was them vs. the World! But Joe Mixon knew better.

With the turn of the new year, employers must focus on refining their recruiting and retention efforts to ensure compliance with a handful of new pay transparency laws, specifically in Illinois, Minnesota, Vermont, Massachusetts, and New Jersey. It's Monday morning, so we could talk about the Bears' embarrassing loss to the 49ers yesterday. We could talk about how checked out they looked, how uninspiring they played, or how much of an indictment the Week 14 loss was on just about everyone in that locker room. We could all get mad about what a waste of time this season was, or how the Bears continue to not learn from their overwhelming failures. Or, alternatively, we could gossip.

Even if they weren't playing this week, the comparisons between Atlanta Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins and Sam Darnold were always inevitable. Cousins spent the peak of his career as QB1 for the Minnesota Vikings and he helped generate some memorable moments for the team during the last few years. In six years with the Vikings, Cousins threw for over 23,000 yards and 170 touchdowns. The offenses he, Justin Jefferson, and Stefon Diggs led were some of the NFL's most prolific.

The Green Bay Packers' path to a division title was always an uphill battle. Playing in the toughest division in football is the absolute worst, and even a win in Detroit on Thursday night wouldn't have been enough to *truly* put them back in the division title conversation (though it obviously sure would have helped). But, you know, they lost. But maybe that's not such a bad thing.

As quite literally every person on the planet expected, the NFL suspended Azeez Al-Shaair on Tuesday. After Al-Shaair laid a dirty hit on Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence – one that very obviously concussed him – during last Sunday's win, the only debate was how many games he'd be out for. The Texans got their answer when the league announced, in no uncertain terms, that they were suspending him for the next three games.

Firing a coach in the middle of the season is fun for two reasons. First, it means that the year is officially over and there's no reason to get angry about what happens in the final six weeks of the season. As the holidays arrive, the Bears' white flag couldn't have arrived at a better time. Secondly, it means that we all get to sit around and listen to the most insane speculation.
