Along those lines, we have had a couple schedule announcements which firm up start times for Miami Hurricanes football games this fall. The season opener at Hard Rock against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish le ago. To add on to that, 3 more games were given their kickoff times in an announcement today.

Not only was QB Cam Ward selected #1 overall by the Tennessee Titans, but 6 other Hurricanes were drafted over the course of the 3 day draft held in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Seattle is no stranger to selecting Canes running backs in the NFL Draft as they DeeJay Dallas 144th overall in 2020 and Travis Homer 204th overall in 2019. They add another physical 6’0” 217lb back, Martinez, who brings a wealth of talent, and years of production, to the NFL.

A 6’6” 320lb lineman, Rivers was a stalwart on Miami’s offensive line for several seasons. He played both Guard and Tackle for Miami on the left side of the line, and was an integral part of the Nation’s #1 offense in 2024.

Ward joins a prestigious fraternity as the #1 overall pick. He is the 3rd Miami player to ever be drafted #1 overall, joining Vinny Testaverde (1987) and Russell Maryland (1991) with that distinction.
