Education Minister Jason Clare has accused Opposition Leader Peter Dutton of “lying” about his commitment to impose caps on foreign students at Australian universities. The Coalition confirmed on Monday it would it would reject the Albanese government’s education bill and labelled it “confused” and “chaotic”. Mr Clare has since said the Coalition's decision has “blown up” the Opposition Leader’s credibility after Mr Dutton appeared to express support for the policy earlier this year.
