One westbound (northbound) lane of the A1 between Tranent and Wallyford was closed following the incident at 7am today. A spokesperson for Police Scotland confirmed that they were called out. It is understood that the incident involved one vehicle and there were no serious injuries. Traffic Scotland took to social media urging people to take care on the approach before confirming that the lane was reopened at about 8.10am.

The “unsightly” building in Dirleton would be torn down and the site ownership transferred to Dirleton Community Association. Plans lodged with East Lothian Council suggest that the building, near the village’s bowling club, has lain unused for 35 years and could cost about £65,000 to demolish. According to a document included with the application, the building is not economic to repair and has “many structural faults”.

The incident took place on Fishers Road in Port Seton (Image: Google Maps) EMERGENCY services have been called out following a three-vehicle crash in Port Seton. Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service were called out at about 9.50am this morning to Fishers Road. A spokesperson for Police Scotland said that emergency services were on the scene and it is understood that the incident involved two cars and an HGV.

The Lammermuir Larder has created a community shop, which it launched on Monday. It hopes that the new shop, at the Larder's premises on 9 Church Street, will help people in Haddington and the surrounding area. The project, which was piloted earlier this year, aims to “further empower our community”.
