DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — The Miami Valley has seen a stalled low pressure over the area for several days, leading to on-and-off showers. It’s all thanks to something known as an Omega Blocking Pattern. The region has been pretty wet with showers over the weekend. Those showers are part of a large global weather pattern, where a high pressure gets stuck in between two low pressure systems to the east and west, creating the appearance of the Greek letter Omega (Ω).

With rain over the past several days, and more on the way, planting will have to wait for even longer, potentially leading to problems when harvesting.
