WBDT-TV (Dayton, OH)

WBDT is a CW-affiliated TV station that broadcasts on virtual channel 26 and UHF digital channel 31, serving the Dayton, Ohio area. It is licensed in Springfield, Ohio, and is owned by Vaughan Media, LLC. The station operates under a local marketing agreement (LMA) with Nexstar Media Group, which also owns the NBC affiliate WDTN, licensed to Dayton (channel 2). Both WBDT and WDTN share studio facilities located on South Dixie Drive in Moraine, although they have a Dayton mailing address. The master control and certain internal operations for both stations are managed from the centralcasting facilities of their former sister station, WISH-TV, located in Indianapolis, Indiana. WBDT does not have its own website; instead, it is part of the WDTN website.

Local Girl Scouts create new art on display in Bellbrook

The art display is installed at Winters Library and comprises ceramic books with inspirational messages drawn across them. A local Girl Scout troop is behind it all thanks to a collaboration with the library; an art studio called Outside the Box; and the Bellbrook City Council, among others, to bring the project to fruition. Versailles Ohio chicken festival announces events, registration open now

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — About two months away, preparations for Poultry Days, the annual chicken festival in downtown Versailles, are ramping up. Bulk chicken sales began in March after it was announced that the event would continue as planned despite concerns over bird flu. Now more details are available ahead of the festival. For one, you can now register to be the 74th Miss Chick. Registration closes on May 26.
Crash near Ohio-Indiana border causes lengthy delay

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — We’re working to learn more about a crash that caused a near 90-minute delay along I-70 westbound near U.S. 40 Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. According to INDOT, a crash between I-70 and U.S. 40 (near Richmond) had the westbound left lane of traffic closed. The crash happened about a mile from the Ohio state line a little before midnight. Of course, the traffic backup was quite extensive, which can be seen in the video above. All lanes have since reopened.

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Travelers at and around Dayton International Airport could notice an increased presence of first responders on Wednesday. Until 1 p.m., Dayton International Airport is conducting an “full-scale” emergency exercise to prepare for what would occur if an actual emergency would occur in the future. Police officers, firefighters, hospitals and additional emergency organizations are taking part in the exercise.
Wilmington College inaugurates first female president

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — An area college is making history. Wilmington College recently held an inauguration ceremony for Dr. Coreen Cockerill, officially making her the college’s first female president. According to the Wilmington News Journal, the ceremony was held at the Boyd Cultural Arts Center on Tuesday afternoon. Cockerill is the 20th president in school history. She took on the role on an interim basis back in March 2024.
