A ceremony was held Monday to mark the 40th anniversary of the Air India attack, the worst terrorist attack in Canadian history. On June 23, 1985, 329 people including 268 Canadian citizens, were killed by a terrorist bomb aboard an Air India Flight from Montreal. The wreckage landed 190 kilometres offshore of Cork, Ireland.

The annual Dragon Boat Festival is back for it’s 32nd year in Ottawa. The event is the largest festival of its kind in North America, drawing teams from all over the world. This year’s festival has about 145 teams with 72 cities participating. Along with teams all across Canada, paddlers competed in at least two 500 metre races at Mooney’s Bay on Saturday.

Ottawa’s Andrew Franklin won the grand prize on CTV’s ‘Battle of the Generations’ game show Wednesday night. Franklin, representing Generation X, went head-to-head with other generations answering trivia questions in the battle of pop culture knowledge. Franklin is the husband to stand-up comedian Dawn Xanklin and dad to teenager.
