KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - As the Knoxville Smokies gear up for opening day, WVLT News has you covered with everything you need to know before baseball kicks off in the Scruffy City. The Smokies will begin play at home on April 15 when they play the Chattanooga lookouts. It’ll mark the first of a stretch of home games, many of which will be themed. LOUDON COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) - After five days of searching, Loudon County Sheriff’s Office officials said Sunday afternoon that the second of two missing teens has been found dead in the Tennessee River. Three teens were connected to the incident, which started with a car chase that ended in Loudon County Wednesday. LCSO officials said the three teens jumped off a bridge near Lake Drive, and only one surfaced.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The Knoxville Ice Bears are headed to the President’s Cup semifinals after overcoming a 1-0 series deficit against the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs Saturday night. The game ended 6-2 in favor of Knoxville. Jimmy Soper and Dawson McKinney each had two goals and two assists, Stephen Mundinger made 38 saves. SCOTT COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) - The Paint Rock Volunteer Fire Department has a new piece of equipment, thanks to the generosity of a Virginia group of firefighters. “We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Blue Ridge Mountain Volunteer Fire Company for their generous donation of a 1991 GMC Topkick engine,” the department said. The new fire engine will help crews more effectively fight fires and respond to emergencies, department officials said.
