I am compelled to talk about pets at the Napa Farmers Market. And when I say pets, I am mainly talking about dogs. Enforcing the California Health and Safety Code § 114.259.5, which prohibits pets within a certified farmers market (because they are considered a food facility, like grocery stores and restaurants) is hands down the most unpleasant part of our job as a farmers market operator.

Spring has sprung, which means the Tuesday market is sprouting back to life and will be open April 1 through Dec. 23 from 8 a.m. to noon, rain or shine in downtown Napa at 1100 West Street. Tuesday shoppers know the relaxed atmosphere and abundance of parking make carving out some time on a weekday well worth the trip.

Only four short weeks until the Tuesday market returns after its three month winter nap. Mark your calendars and join us for opening day, Tuesday, April 1 — no fooling! Starting in April, we will be open Tuesdays 8 a.m. to noon through Dec. 23. Operating an outdoor farmers market, we never really know what we will get in terms of weather, especially in January and February. The first two months of this year we welcomed 18,447 customer visits, which is a 24% increase over 2024.
