JACKSON, Mich — One man is in jail and another taken to the hospital after a stabbing Sunday night, that’s according to the Jackson County Sheriff. Authorities say it happened around 8 p.m. on the 2200 block of Francis Street in Summit Township. Jackson Sheriff Deputies say they found a 54-year-old Summit Township man with stab wounds to his chest and abdomen. The victim was given immediate medical help and then transported to a local hospital.

GRAND LEDGE, Mich. — The Eaton County Prosecutor has issued four felony charges against 22-year-old Dontae Deshawn Horton. `He is accused of actions that police say led to a shelter-in-place order for our Grand Ledge neighbors last Wednesday. He was arraigned on Friday for charges including: Carjacking and Armed Robbery, both of which are punishable with a life sentence. A cash/surety bond has been set at $500,000. His next court appearance is a Probable Cause Conference scheduled for April 7.

All of our Grand Ledge neighbors are advised to shelter in place as law enforcement search for a suspect that the Grand Ledge Police Department describes as a black male wearing black pants, a black backpack, and a blue hat and police say he is armed with a gun. Neighbors are advised to lock all exterior doors and windows, stay inside their residence or building, keep all pets inside and remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to 911 immediately.

JACKSON, Mich — Attorney General Dana Nessel announced Tuesday that there will be no charges issued in the officer involved shooting death of 34-year-old Eric Michael Fiddler from Jonesville. As a reminder, the shooting happened in June of last year in connection with the death of Hillsdale County Deputy William Butler Jr.Deputy Butler was assisting with a Jefferson Township traffic stop near Beecher Road that turned deadly last June.
