I started reading about horse training and quickly learned that horses have much to teach us. As I was reading, I came across two expressions used in horse training: “breaking a horse” and “starting a horse.” I’m guessing “starting a horse” is the more contemporary and humane way of saying the same thing. These terms describe the process of bringing a horse’s wild nature into a place of submission.
