Ugly things were said and done. This year (2020) and for 200 years before that and many generations before that. Nothing can make better the mistakes of our past. Nothing. But we can choose a better future.

Realize that those on the other side. The losing side. May have some soul searching, and healing to do. That work is very hard. To face your own biases and choose to be a better human for yourself and those around you is difficult. But you’ll be better for it.

There are so many things, I’m not quite sure how to start, but I want to say this. It is important that even in the immense gratification of overcoming adversity. It is imperative that we practice compassion.

Here’s the thing... At. This. Point. If someone is still having a “debate” with you about black lives matter vs all lives matter. They are racist. Hopefully they unlearn this behavior and become better humans.
