    GREENSBORO — It took some time for West Wilkes to settle in — just an hour-long rain delay and three innings — but eventually, the Blackhawks delivered. On Friday night at the UNCG Softball Stadium, West Wilkes defeated North Lenoir, 9-1, in game one of the N.C. High School Athletic Association 2A softball best-of-three championship series. West Wilkes’ (26-3) offense exploded after two scoreless innings, totaling 12 hits.
