The Hancock County Board of Supervisors on Monday hosted a workshop regarding long-term projects. County Administrator Jimmie Ladner said the first item he wanted to discuss is the old courthouse. Ladner said he wanted direction from the board about what they wanted to do with it. “When you’re looking at this from a financial standpoint, you’re looking at from a little bit of money to a whole lot of money, and anything in between,” Ladner said.

Last week, Hancock County Relay for Life hosted its annual survivors and caregivers luncheon at Hollywood Casino in Bay St. Louis. Mandy Ladner with Hollywood Casino said they were so “excited to host the survivor dinner.”“Obviously, it’s an honor to have all of you in our presence, especially those that work with this company,” she said. Relay co-chair Bernie Cullen said the month of November is the perfect time to host the survivor luncheon. “Because it’s a Thanksgiving month,” she said.

The city of Waveland on Tuesday hosted the “Safe Haven Baby Box Blessing.”The board approved the installation of the Safe Haven Baby Box at the Waveland Fire Department on Hwy. 90 in September 2023. Hot Rods and Hospitality returns to Waveland's Coleman Avenue today, Wednesday, Oct. 9. “With last year being our first year hosting this event, we did not expect the participation that we had, so parking was an issue that we had last year,” Hot Rods and Hospitality Committee president Bobby Richardson said. Waveland Mayor Jay Trapani said in an interview last year that they expected about 500 vehicles to roll through Coleman Avenue, but it turned out to be closer to 3,000 vehicles.
