Hedi Slimane’s latest “show” for Celine consisted of a video, and for a few guests the chance to check out the full array of cloths on racks in the house’s communications showroom on rue Racine. This turned out to be one of the five best collections so far this season anywhere. Even, as rumor would have it, it may be Hedi’s last for the house. Just like the location of the video – the halls and parklands of Chateau de Compiégne - the collection was classy, cohesive and cool.

The Board of Directors of Tod’s has appointed John Galantic to be chief executive officer of the group. The Italian luxury footwear giant said Galantic will be based in Milan. “Galantic’s proven experience in the luxury sector with a specific focus on brand building will help Tod’s Group to increase its growth potential globally,” Tod’s said in a release. In an already lengthy career, Galantic has held senior management positions based in the US, Italy and France.

Uniqlo has named Clare Waight Keller as its creative director, further cementing a relationship that began in 2023. She will fete her new role tomorrow in New York with her latest ideas for the Japanese marque. Back in September 2023, Waight Keller, who has helmed such storied fashion houses as Givenchy and Chloé, took on the role of designer for the UNIQLO : C womenswear project.

The "Fashion Manifesto | Gabrielle Chanel" exhibition opened at the Power Station of Art (PSA) in Shanghai on July 12, while the debut of its Metiers d'Art 2024/2025 collection in Hangzhou is scheduled in December and its 2024/2025 cruise show will take place in Hong Kong in November.
