Four people are facing charges in connection to a robbery at a Telus store in Mapleview mall and a subsequent police chase that took place April 22. Police are still searching for one additional person believed to be involved. Officers say four men entered the store around 11:35 a.m. and began grabbing phones off the display cases. None of the men used weapons, and no injuries were reported after the incident.

This session of crisis intervention training was the 50th of its kind in Hamilton, but the latest cohort was introduced to a new curriculum developed by Wilfrid Laurier University.
Sections of James Street in Burlington to be closed April 22-29

According to Burlington city officials, James Street at Martha Street will be affected by lane closures April 22-29 due to service work at a nearby building. The right turn lane from James Street onto Martha Street, as well as the right turn lane from Martha Street to James Street will be closed. The closures will only occur during the day, between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Roads will be re-opened outside of working hours and on weekends.

St. Catharines police investigating serious collision involving cyclist and car

Niagara police are investigating a serious crash between a cyclist and a car in St. Catharines. Officers say the collision happened around 4:24 p.m. on April 17 on Lakeshore Road near Broadway. A 72-year-old male cyclist from St. Catharines was transported to a hospital outside the Niagara Region with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. He remains in hospital. Police say a 74-year-old woman, also from St. Catharines was driving the car involved in the crash.

Niagara police arrest youth after sexual assault on public bus

Niagara police have arrested a young person in connection to a sexual assault on a public bus travelling between Niagara Falls and St. Catharines. According to investigators, a woman boarded a bus headed for St. Catharines near Morrison Street and Dorchester Road in Niagara Falls around 7:05 a.m. on April 17. While onboard, she was sexually assaulted by an unknown man. Around 7:40 a.m., she exited the bus on Welland Avenue near Geneva Street in St. Catharines.
