    A man and woman from Welland have been arrested following an investigation into fentanyl trafficking in the area. Police executed search warrants at a home and a vehicle in Welland on May 13 – resulting in the seizure of 388 grams of suspected fentanyl, 32.9 grams of suspected cocaine and an undisclosed amount of cash. Investigators say the estimated street value of the seized drugs is $42,090.

    People in Brantford were shaken up Tuesday by an outbreak of violence in their city. It started with a shooting in the middle of the night at a local magic mushroom store, followed by a stabbing near the Brantford hospital. Police say these appear to be two separate incidents. First the storefront was peppered with gunshots, then about an hour later, a man apparently dragged himself into hospital with multiple stab wounds.

    As a total overhaul is planned for Sam Lawrence Park in Hamilton, some residents are not on board with the removal of on-site parking as accessibility remains a big issue. The City of Hamilton began the process to upgrade the park which overlooks the Jolley Cut on the Mountain Brow in 2019. There are 30 planned initiatives in total which range from how pedestrians access the site, to a pedestrian bridge over the Jolley Cut.
