    “Why are you different?”Dishes clanked as Ms. Litha scooped rice noodles into a bowl. A cook at Chhay Villa Restaurant, she was preparing num banh chok, a traditional Cambodian dish, as she posed her question to owners John and Anna. John is the son of Ly Chhay and Navy Chann-Chhay, Resonate Global Mission missionaries who have supporting church partners in Canada. Ms. Litha knows that John, Anna and their family are Christians, but they weren’t like the Christians Ms. Litha has met before.

    Growing crops and feeding communities is becoming more difficult in Uganda. That’s why Resonate Global Mission missionary Sara Sytsma took a group of young people to visit a farm and learn new growing techniques. Sytsma works in agricultural development in Uganda, helping churches and communities come alongside farmers to better care for their land, produce more food, save money, and connect the Christian faith to everyday life through Bible study and skills training.

Several of Abel’s extended family members had already been killed. Trying to decide what to do, Abel turned toward his family—but it was too late. The military men forced their way into his home. They stole their possessions and abused Abel’s 12-year-old daughter.

    Skip to content Matthew 25 is one of my favourite Bible passages and I have enjoyed many good sermons that reflected on it. God instructs his people to feed the hungry, the thirsty, the stranger, the naked, the sick and those in prison.

    During his Sermon on the Mount, Jesus told his followers, “Blessed are the peacemakers.” The relevance of this message can't be overstated as we experience conflict in our families, workplaces, friendships, and neighborhoods—not to mention our churches. Sometimes this conflict is the result of disagreement or misunderstanding. Sometimes it is the result of wrongdoing that results in pain, trauma, and a need for support. In every case, peacemakers are a blessing.
