When I was 35, my husband and I started trying for a third baby. Fortunately, I fell pregnant quickly and we were excited to become a family of five. But everything changed one night when I started bleeding and experiencing extreme pain on the left side of my body. I didn't know it at the time, but I was having an ectopic pregnancy. And if I hadn't stood my ground and insisted that doctors listen to me, no one else would have known until it was too late - I was at real risk of dying.

Shepherd is reader supported. When you buy books, we may earn an affiliate commission. Myfavorite read in 2023…I loved this book for its pacy story, fantastic characters, and gripping plot. The story is intense, and Holly Craig is a fantastic writer. Every single page is gripping and drives the story forward. A woman becomes obsessed with the woman next door and befriends her. When her new friend is murdered, her husband insists that they flee. What happens next is a story of survival. Brilliant.

I have long been a fan of writer Ian Tattum. Ian is incredibly intelligent and a keen observer. Ian’s poems have been published in a number of magazines and it’s easy to see why. Ian’s talent is outstanding and his poems stay with you for a long time after you have read them. I cannot recommend his poems enough, nor insist enough that you keep an eye out for what he does in the future. It was hard to find just three poems to publish here. I loved them all.
