Firefighters were called to a vacant Hell’s Kitchen building this morning after reports of smoke emanating from the top floors. The building, located at 618 W46th Street (bw 11/12th Ave), was previously occupied by the European-style nightclub Pacha (which closed in 2016) and then Bane Haunted House, but has been vacant since fall of 2020. We observed crews of FDNY firefighters enter the building shortly before 11am, with oxygen tanks strapped to their backs.

Emily McGill arrived in Hell’s Kitchen from Pittsburgh over 17 years ago — and stayed. She runs her own boutique PR and communications firm as well as being a spiritual psychologist. This is Emily’s West Side Story. So what’s your New York story? Born here, or just arrived? My first trip to New York was the summer of 1997 for a dance competition and I fell head over heels in love with the city and the pace (I’ve always moved at warp speed).
