Getting a closer look on Depot Road now. One helicopter is coming every other minute to drop water onto the flames. Some homes closest to the mountain have evacuated while others have a go-bag ready. The fire has grown to 8 hectares. @CityNewsVAN #Squamishfire https://t.co/Zz5uVLJ33X

Just got to Squamish where heavy smoke could be seen from the town centre. Several helicopters are still flying above but it seems like residents are staying put. @CityNewsVAN https://t.co/q3Zf60dCqn
