The person spoke to the AP on Saturday on condition of anonymity because the agreement was subject to a successful physical. O’Neill is set to make $16.5 million in each of the next three seasons. He can opt out after 2025. The 29-year-old O’Neill hit .241 with 31 homers and 61 RBIs last season for Boston.

Rubenstein made a guest appearance Friday night in the “Splash Zone” in left field, where fans are sprayed with a hose in celebration after big plays. Rubenstein was put in charge of the spraying in the bottom of the second inning against Arizona, and the Orioles immediately scored two runs.

The latter was a drive by Cedric Mullins that ended the game — and extended an impressive streak of power by the Orioles. Mullins hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning Wednesday to beat the Minnesota Twins 4-2. Gunnar Henderson also went deep leading off the first, and Anthony Santander hit a tying solo shot in the seventh.
