As far as David Crockett and the 2024-25 basketball season goes, Daniel Boone’s Andrea Flores saved her best for last. After dropping two games to the Pioneers, including a 73-53 setback in the Andrew Johnson Bank Ladies Classic on Dec. 30, Flores fired in 32 points as Boone bounced back to defeat Crockett, 63-58, on Friday night at Bobby Snyder Gymnasium. Flores, a 5-foot-11 junior committed to Boston College, was apparently excited to have Eagles assistant coach Chris Meadows Sr. in attendance.

Captain Kaipono Kayoshi led from the front against BYU. If there has been a knock on Saint Mary's it's been that they haven't played a lot of the major teams in the D1A Top 10. That changed this weekend as the Gaels traveled to Provo and beat BYU 38-21 in a wild one where Saint Mary's seemed in total control, only to be reminded that there's no such thing. Saint Mary's has won games by 87, 33, 65, 67, 53, 39, and 97.

By Central Washington University The Central Washington University baseball team is ranked No. 3 in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, according to a CWU news release Wednesday. The Wildcats finished 14-25 overall and 8-24 GNAC in 2022, and Northwest Nazarene is a heavy favorite to repeat as regular-season champion with all five first-place poll votes and 25 points.

The CWU Art and Design Department will host Vast and Solitary Lands: a Master of Fine Arts Mid-Thesis Exhibition by Charlie Tadlock beginning Jan. 31 and continuing through Feb. 9.
