Residents living near the former Greggs Bakery site in Twickenham have raised serious health concerns over the ongoing demolition work at the new London Square development. The project, which will eventually see 116 new homes built next to the River Crane, has prompted complaints from neighbours on Gould, Crane, Norcutt, Edwin and May Roads, many of whom are worried about the level of dust and disruption being caused.

Richmond's gymnasts enjoyed a successful Acrobatic European Championships in Luxembourg, representing Great Britain and bringing home silver and bronze medals. In a first for the club, three partnerships from Richmond Gymnastics Association (RGA) represented Great Britain at Senior level. The 2025 Senior European All Round Silver medallists are RGA's Senior Men's Group, Louis Alexander (19), Freddie Turner (20), Rex Booth (19) and Samuel Ditchburn (18).

An American lifestyle brand's planning application for shop signs on George Street, Richmond have been approved. Free people, known for its modern bohemian style, sells clothing, accessories, shoes and beauty products. The clothing store applied to install signage to the exterior of the Peony pop-up and former Little Dobbies store on 27 February 2025. The site is described as being a prime location at the heart of Richmond, close to Richmond station.

A sports centre in Barnes has applied to extend its alcohol licence and opening hours at weekends. Rocks Lane Barnes Multi Sports Centre has submitted a licensing application to Richmond Council to amend the hours for the sale of alcohol and to extend its premises opening times. Currently, the clubhouse is licensed to sell alcohol from 9am to 10pm Monday to Friday, and from 8am to 8pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
Twickenham beauty salon to close after 24 years

A much-loved Twickenham beauty salon has announced it will close its doors after 24 years in business. Blush Beauty on Richmond Road announced on Sunday, 20 April that it would be "closing its doors Saturday, 26 April" due to "the current economic climate". In a statement via Instagram, Blush Beauty, said: "To all our wonderful clients, it's with heavy hearts that we share the news that Blush will be closing its doors on Saturday, 26th April.
Hammersmith Bridge reopens following major safety works

New cycle and pedestrian lanes at Hammersmith Bridge have been completed after the bridge was fully closed in 2020 on safety grounds. A £2.9 million grant from the Department for Transport (DfT) has enabled the bridge to receive new decking, which now features three separate lanes and 1.2-metre-wide anti-terror barges. There is a dedicated lane for cyclists travelling north, another for cyclists travelling south, and a third two-way pedestrian path.
Concerning increase in Richmond borough housing issues voiced by disability charity

Housing issues and homelessness concerns are rising in Richmond borough, according to disability charity Richmond AID. Over 20% of Richmond AID's housing enquiries now concern homelessness, and in 2024 they had 550 clients enquire about housing issues. The charity began running monthly community housing forums in May 2024, in response to the rise in concerns they were receiving.
