Here, we show that ER stress mediated activation of Tbx20 promotes cardiomyocyte proliferation and limits cardiomyocyte apoptosis by activating Bmp2/pSmad1/5/8 pathway and upregulating the expression of cardio-protective Atf6 arm of UPR.
