Police said the man grabbed an officer's gun and fired the fatal shot himself. Officials cited and charged Bobby Max Lowery, 48, of Nebo, North Carolina, in connection with the fire. The fire is in Brunswick County, in the southeastern corner of North Carolina. It has grown to 1,331 acres and is 83% contained as of Monday, according to the Forest Service.

Police said three masked people, two Hispanic men and one Hispanic woman, were armed with guns when they broke into a home in Garner, just south of Raleigh.
