The News & Observer
The News & Observer, commonly referred to as the N&O, serves as the primary daily newspaper for the Research Triangle region in North Carolina. Located in Raleigh, it also provides coverage for nearby areas such as Durham, Cary, and Chapel Hill. The newspaper enjoys a significant readership across much of the eastern part of the state, extending beyond Winston-Salem. It ranks as the second-largest newspaper in North Carolina, following The Charlotte Observer. Over the years, the N&O has earned three Pulitzer Prizes, with the latest awarded in 1996 for its in-depth, computer-assisted investigation into the hog industry in North Carolina.
