    A 74-year-old Florida man drowned on a lake in midcoast Maine on Friday afternoon while swimming after his boat that had drifted away from shore. The drowning happened at around 1:45 p.m., after Richard Eason — who is from Ocala, Florida but has a home on Damariscotta Lake — had launched his boat from the Vannah Road Boat launch in Nobleboro and pulled it to shore, according to Mark Latti, spokesperson for the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.

    More than 10,000 customers lost power as gusty winds blew across Maine on Easter Sunday afternoon, with most of them in Penobscot, Aroostook, Hancock and Washington counties. As of 3:35 p.m., Versant Power reported a total of 9,931 statewide outages, and Central Maine Power reported another 2,644. “We are monitoring gusty winds through today,” CMP said on Facebook.

    A southern Maine man was charged with attempted murder Saturday after he allegedly fired a handgun during an argument with another person. Steven Henry, 57, of Limerick got into the altercation after allegedly doing a burnout in his pickup truck near the home of the other person, who lives on Prokey Drive, according to Shannon Moss, spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety. The owner of the Limerick home then came out to talk with him, and it turned into an argument.

    Immigration officials have started removal proceedings for a Chinese citizen who was recently charged with sex trafficking in the midcoast. Tian Tao, 54, was arrested on the sex trafficking charges on Feb. 20 by Rockland police and officers from U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement, according to ICE. On March 6, ICE announced that Tao faces removal to China. He first entered the U.S. legally in 2016, but violated the terms of his admission, ICE said.

It doesn’t reflect too well on this platform that they make it nearly impossible to sign out of the mobile version. It takes Inception-level navigating through multiple menus to find it. Am I missing an easier option?
