CHELSEA head to Sweden this week and straight into a bizarre ‘s****y’ pitch battle involving European opponents Djurgarden. Their hosts for the Conference League semi-final first leg are furious with the state of their OWN surface as they prepare for their biggest game in years. The pitch is an artificial one and the Djurgardens players and coaches are not happy with it. Usually it is the visiting opposition that kick up a fuss when they arrive and find it uncomfortable on an alien surface.

ITALIAN star Gianluigi Donnarumma is seen as one of the best keepers in the world — but Arsenal will target him. The Paris Saint-Germain No 1, 26, broke England’s hearts at Euro 2020. He helped dump Liverpool out of the last 16 of this year’s Champions League and then frustrated Aston Villa in the quarter-finals. Donnarumma has now played over 400 senior games but there is concern over his inability to deal with corners and crosses. He can also be suspect with the ball at his feet.

JACK WILSHERE will take charge of his first game as a manager at Middlesbrough today before heading south for the London Marathon. The former Arsenal star has been given the Norwich caretaker boss job after the sacking of Johannes Hoff Thorup. Wilshere will be on the team bus back to Norfolk this evening before travelling to London for the marathon where he is running for the British Heart Foundation.
