Under the new laws, car dealers in Western Australia will be required to advise buyers if the vehicle they're selling had previously been written off. The dealers will need to disclose if a second-hand vehicle under 15-years-old is a repairable-write off. The new regulations, coming into effect on June 7, come following a surge of complaints from buyers.

Around 9.15pm on Wednesday, police on patrol in the Calista area attempted to stop a motorcycle driving on Wellard Road. The rider, believed to be aged in his 20's, failed to stop and turned off on Westbrook Street before turning back onto Wellard Road with police in pursuit. Officers then lost sight of the rider for a short time before finding the motorcycle crashed on Wellard Road. Police provided emergency first aid to the male rider until St John WA arrived at the scene.

The man was driving an Indian motorcycle on Myara Road around 5.25pm yesterday, Monday February 12. At the same time, a grey Skoda Octavia was driving in the opposite direction. The car and motorcycle collided head on and the motorcycle rider died at the scene. The 48-year-old male driver of the Skoda received serious injuries in the crash, and was taken by St John WA to Royal Perth Hospital. Officers from the Major Crash Investigation Section are seeking information regarding the crash.

The City of Mandurah announced today that the homegrown act will lead the music line-up at the Seaside Estate Music Stage. The sod for the project was turned today, marking the start of the second two lane bridge being built on the south side of the existing Estuary Bridge. It will provide additional traffic lanes for the original bridge, which is currently used as the main access point to southern Mandurah by 33,000 vehicles every day. A new four-metre-wide shared path will also be built in an effort to provide the community with better access to recreational activities, including fishing.
