Alicia Kemp will now have her charges upgraded after the man’s death, prosecutors told a magistrate this morning.

Matthew Haylett dived headfirst into the water at Mullaloo Beach on Saturday, unaware there was a sandbank. His friend, Camden Atfield, told 9 News Perth he had rushed into the water to rescue him.

Around 30 flights have been delayed at Perth Airport following a storm that went through the area earlier this afternoon. A Perth Airport spokesperson said staff were not allowed on the airfield during the thunderstorm for safety reasons. Flights were expected to be delayed for up to an hour.
