Leaders of Cheshire and Warrington’s three councils have written to Government asking for the region to be included in its priority programme for devolution. This would formally open conversations with Government about potential new powers and funding Cheshire and Warrington could receive if it goes ahead with devolution.

Thousands of people have opposed a council’s plan to collect household waste once every three weeks, according to a report. Residents were recently consulted on Cheshire East Council’s proposal to collect black bins every three weeks rather than every fortnight. It is part of the authority’s plan to make savings of £91m over the next four years in an attempt to stave off effective bankruptcy.

Postpartum psychosis is a life-changing but treatable condition that usually occurs in the first few days to weeks after childbirth affecting 1–2 in 1000 pregnancies. Those who have experienced psychosis before, either as a single episode, related or unrelated to childbirth or as part of a long-term mental health condition have a higher likelihood of experiencing an episode in the postnatal period.
