    By Chinonso AlozieThe Counsel to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, on Sunday demanded the immediate and unconditional release of Chief Chidozie Nwangwu, popularly known as Akwa Okuko Tiwara Aki, who was recently arrested by the Anambra State Government. Speaking to newsmen in Owerri, Ejiofor described the arrest as “illegal” and warned that it sets a dangerous precedent for suppressing religious and expressive freedoms in the state.

    Owerri - Following the Ezeship tussle, in Umuezeanoruo Eziama Autonomous Community in Nkwerre Council Area of Imo state, Eze Emmanuel Ekwujuru Uzoho has advised one Nze Emeka Obiefule to go and answer the police invitation. Uzoho spoke to newsmen in Owerri, on Wednesday condemning an attempt by Obiefule to credit an interview he (Uzoho) granted to another person, Chikezie Nwadike.

    Enugu — The lingering insecurity in the South East region is not abating. The situation, especially in Anambra and Imo States, is getting out of hand, and giving the people serious concern. Residents of the region daily live in fear. Very recently, members of the crew of Super Sports going to cover the match between the Super Eagles and the Mediterranean Knights of Libya in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, were kidnapped in Isseke, a border town in Ihiala council area with Orlu, Imo State.

Despite the success of the weekly directive, IPOB, yesterday, denied declaring a sit-at-home exercise for October 21 and 22 in any part of Igbo land.
