AUSTIN, Texas — Texas baseball played its first game as the No. 1 team in the nation since 2022 Tuesday night against Texas-Rio Grande Valley at Disch-Falk Field. Texas (29-5, 13-2 SEC) last took the field as the nation's top-ranked team on March 13, 2022, when the Longhorns lost both games of a double-header against South Carolina. The starting pitcher for Texas was sophomore left-hander Kade Bing (1-0, 3.12 ERA). The starter for UT-RGV was senior right-hander Jacob Limas (1-1, 4.68 ERA).
