Northeastern bought an office building in Burlington, Mass. for $33 million in May, the most recent purchase in its ongoing effort to expand the university’s number of satellite campuses across the United States. The Burlington BioCenter — which the university officially acquired on May 19, according to state land records — is a four-story, 109,085-square-foot building containing primarily office and scientific lab spaces.

The Boston Marathon is a beloved part of Boston history, holding the title of the world’s oldest annual marathon since its inception in 1897. From only 18 local entrants in its first year, the marathon has grown to nearly 32,000 entrants in the 2025 race — and almost half of them identify as women. Despite their high participation, women have only been allowed to compete since 1972.

Bradley French is a modern renaissance man. He’s a fourth-year behavioral neuroscience major on the pre-medical school track, member of the Phi Delta Epsilon fraternity, Huntington 100 inductee, Nu Rho Psi Honors Society member and an undergraduate teaching fellow. French is also on the Northeastern club hockey team and has two clinical co-op experiences under his belt. One would think that would be enough. But on top of it all, French has been training to run the Boston Marathon April 21.

Over 50,000 people gathered in Boston Common April 5 for a “Hands Off Massachusetts” rally and march protesting the policies of President Donald Trump, tech billionaire Elon Musk and their political allies. The Boston demonstration was one of at least 1,300 “Hands Off” rallies across all 50 states, as well as some held outside of the United States in London, Berlin and Paris.

On the evening of March 25, Rumeysa Ozturk, a Turkish doctoral student at Tufts University, was detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE, agents near her off-campus apartment in Somerville. Video footage shows plainclothes officers, with their faces covered, grabbing Ozturk and forcing her into a van. Ozturk is also a Fulbright Scholar, and recently graduated with her master’s in developmental psychology from Columbia University’s Teachers College.
