ESKASONI — CMP have charged two people with drug trafficking after executing a search warrant in Eskasoni. On Wednesday at approximately 9:45 a.m., the Eskasoni RCMP executed a search warrant at a home on Raspberry Lane in relation to an ongoing drug trafficking investigation. During the search, officers located and seized cocaine, cash, cellphones, scales, baggies, and other items used in the production and distribution of cocaine.

Moments earlier, Nova Scotia Supreme Court Justice Kevin Coady found Colin Hugh Tweedie guilty on all three charges faced in connection with the 10-year-old girl’s hit-and-run death on July 11, 2019.

SYDNEY, N.S. — A Cape Breton man has been found guilty in the hit-and-run death of a 10-year-old girl who was riding a bicycle with her friend. On Friday, Nova Scotia Supreme Court Justice Kevin Coady delivered his verdict in the retrial of Colin Hugh Tweedie, who was charged with impaired driving causing death, dangerous driving causing death and leaving the scene of an accident in relation to the death of Talia Forrest.
